The historic Arcada Theater opened in the 1920's and originally hosted vaudeville revues. Eventually it went over to movies (I used to go there all the time) before closing sometime in the 90's. It's since been restored (although I seem to recall it's old fashioned interior even back in the 80's) and hosts all manner of live performances-I believe that Davy Jones was scheduled to appear when I shot this. The marquee was recently restored-until this past summer it only said "ARC" and featured some peeling paint. You can see it's unrestored state right here.
I have a soft spot for the Arcada-it was still showing first run films when I was in high school, and used to go here all the time with my friends. STC residents of a certain age are all probably similarly nostalgic about the old place!
I'm digging that window reflection.
