Another classic Chicago neon sign, and one that's no longer around. Erickson's Jewelers was in Andersonville, on the far north side of the city. They closed around 2008, I think, and the signage hung around for another year before new tenants moved took over in 2010. I loved this sign-it was a classic 40's-50's piece. A restaurant moved into the old store this year, and the sign was removed and re-built with their logo-it's the same shape, and the clock now works. I was saddened to see it was changed, but am pleased that it's the same shape, making a nice connection with the neighborhood's past.
Interestingly, I think this was a sort of pattern sign from the company-a similar sign hangs in front of a jewelry store in Woodstock, Illinois.
